Don’t let your travel plans go to waste!
In light of COVID-19 current situation, it has been a complicated period for vacation bookings. So, do expect the unexpected. I’m sure when the government lifted the travel ban a few months ago, many of you including myself, jumped on the bandwagon to book for vacations.
However, in a bid to slow down the spread of the coronavirus, the Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin recently announced the movement control order for six high-risk states – Penang, Selangor, Wilayah Persekutuan, Sabah, Melaka, Johor. With that, this automatically gives a big impact on your travel bookings made way earlier. Don’t worry though! Below are the options that you can go-through to refund or postpone your vacay:
Check your travel insurance – Let’s say if you have made bookings for flights do refer to your insurance provider for a refund claim. See if it’s possible or not. Due to the current pandemic, insurance booked after mid-March 2020 may unlikely be covered for travel cancellation.
Accommodations – Thank god for Agoda and Booking.com policy which offers free provisional refunds for travelers. Go through the bookings you made and call the help centers to secure your vacays ASAP!
Now that you know, get everything secure right about now. Stay safe, Hip Hearts!
