In light of COVID-19 current situation, it has been a complicated period for vacation bookings. So, do expect the unexpected. I’m sure when the government lifted the travel ban a few months ago, many of you including myself, jumped on the bandwagon to book for vacations.

However, in a bid to slow down the spread of the coronavirus, the Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin recently announced the movement control order for six high-risk states – Penang, Selangor, Wilayah Persekutuan, Sabah, Melaka, Johor. With that, this automatically gives a big impact on your travel bookings made way earlier. Don’t worry though! Below are the options that you can go-through to refund or postpone your vacay:
Check your travel insurance – Let’s say if you have made bookings for flights do refer to your insurance provider for a refund claim. See if it’s possible or not. Due to the current pandemic, insurance booked after mid-March 2020 may unlikely be covered for travel cancellation.
Accommodations – Thank god for Agoda and Booking.com policy which offers free provisional refunds for travelers. Go through the bookings you made and call the help centers to secure your vacays ASAP!
