Catch a glimpse of a monster at the Lake Merritt
Yes, you’ve read that right! Basically Lake Merritt is the only natural saltwater lake within city boundaries, globally. Not to mention it is also home to the oldest United States’ wildlife refuge since 1870. Wow! The highlight of this lake would be the Oak-ness monster which has been appearing since the 1940s. Can’t really confirm what it is though. But, you can definitely catch a glimpse of the creature from the docks of the Lake Chalet restaurant in Oakland. If you’re lucky, of course!
