Last week, many online news outlets shared a viral post of a Malaysian dog owner who ordered a Puppuccino at the Starbucks outlet in Jaya One. A Puppuccino, as it is known in other markets such as the United States, is a small cup of low-fat, sugar-free whipped cream without coffee.
Excitedly, Hipshut Travel Buddy, Elza, who also runs her own pet service business, took three of her boarding guests to treat them to a cup. Jaya One and The School is a pet-friendly mall, where your furkids and you can enjoy dining in several of their restaurants, bars, and cafes. There is also a designated pet restroom and a Pet Marshall to ensure safety and hygiene.
At Starbucks, you are allowed to sit at the outside seating area while you sip on your drinks.
Upon arrival, the cafe was full, and the external seating area was also taken up by many adorable doggies and their pawrents. They decided to come again later in hopes of a shorter queue.

However, when they came back and ordered the viral Puppuccino, to their disappointment they were informed that Starbucks does not sell this item. Confused, they mentioned the news articles, and the staff clarified that the original poster (Sushi’s owner) had placed a custom order drink and that in actual fact, this item is not on the Starbucks menu.
Upon further reading on dog owner forums on Facebook, some shared that they were informed that JAKIM had instructed Starbucks HQ to stop selling this “secret menu” as it does not comply with the Halal Certification regulations (by having an item for dogs).
So, unfortunately, while you can enjoy your drink with your puppy outside the cafe, your furkid will not be able to get a cuppa of their own.
