Chengal Hill Retreat – hidden in the depth of Janda Baik green rainforest, nestled a serene and heavenly enclave family owned chalet. This 5 acre orchard resort is waiting for you to discover its magical coolness from the fresh brooks of waterfalls in the foothills.
While the streams are astounding, you will wonder in the richness of flora and fauna of this small valley. Your senses will be heightened in this wonderland, by the sounds of the happy creatures of the woods. You will be amazed by the beauty of the rare sight of the jungle’s heartbeat.
Wild boar and deer still could be found, but the more revealing would be giant millipedes and monkeys as well as the normal beings of any natural environment.
A night at the Timber Chalet
During my stay at Chengal Hill Retreat’s Timber Chalet, I was utterly amazed by the tranquility and serenity of the entire area. The chalet itself is beautifully located right next to a charming small waterfall, creating a soothing atmosphere that immediately put me at ease. After settling in, I couldn’t resist taking a quick dip in the nearby river, and it was such a refreshing experience.
There were plenty of activities to enjoy during the day, from swimming in the shared pool to having a blast at the big lawn where we played frisbee. For the latter, it’s a great idea to bring your own sports equipment to make the most of the outdoor fun. And let’s not forget the exhilarating zip line, which added an extra thrill to our adventure.
As nightfall approached, we decided to have a delightful BBQ experience. Chengal Hill Retreat provided the BBQ pit, making it convenient for us, but we needed to bring our own charcoal, skewers, plates, cups, and, of course, our preferred BBQ food supply. It was a wonderful evening filled with laughter and good food amidst the natural beauty surrounding us.
One notable aspect of the retreat is its back-to-nature feel. There are no modern amenities like TV, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, or water heaters. But this only enhanced the experience, as we were truly immersed in nature’s embrace. The calming sound of the river acted like a gentle lullaby, ensuring we had a peaceful night’s sleep.
There’s no traditional breakfast buffet available here but the Nasi Lemak bungkus provided a delicious and the perfect local way to start the day.
Overall, my experience at Chengal Hill Retreat was truly magical, and I can’t recommend it enough for those seeking a nature-filled getaway. However, it’s essential to note that it’s not a fancy 5-star resort with all the luxurious amenities. Instead, it offers a more basic and back-to-nature experience, where you can truly immerse yourself in the serene surroundings. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape and a chance to connect with nature, this is the perfect place to be.
