Happy 50th Anniversary, Tourism Malaysia! To celebrate their hard work since 1972, we want to share our 3 fave Tourism Malaysia campaigns to promote Malaysia as one of the most preferred destinations.
#1 Malaysia Truly Asia
Malaysia Truly Asia, hands down, has got to be our fave one. The campaign captures and defines the essence of the country’s unique diversity. There is no other place than Malaysia that has Asia’s three major races, Malay, Chinese, and Indian, plus various other ethnic groups in large numbers.[eltd_blockquote text= “Do you know that since its inception in 1999, the Malaysia Truly Asia campaign has won more than 25 awards worldwide, including the region’s’ Media Magazine’s’ Marketing Effectiveness Award in 2006. We love the campaign in particular as it really put Malaysia on the world map as one of the best Asean destinations. The simple slogan yet catchy makes it memorable for everyone. There’s one incident where I bumped into a stranger in Piccadilly Market, London. He chanted Malaysia Truly Asia as soon as I said I’m from Malaysia. We then laughed and chatted for a while about his experience in Malaysia and mine in the UK. Soon as we parted our way, I couldn’t help but feel a bit proud, someone knows Malaysia. Ini barulah Malaysia Boleh!
I’m not too sure if this is the original one since I couldn’t find the original Malaysia Truly song on Tourism Malaysia’s official Youtube account but I found this and by the title – Malaysia Truly Asia ( Original Song ), I think this is the first song that was released in 1999.
