Brunch on a river cruise
Another highlight from our trip was the river cruise that we took to enjoy scrumptious brunch dishes with a free-flow package of wines, beers, and soft drinks while enjoying the scenic views of the Thu Bon River and the city.
One of the best ways to enjoy the city architecture which neither a car nor a bike can provide.

Bike
If you’re feeling adventurous, I highly recommend renting a bicycle to explore the Old Town. This is one of the easiest ways to get around and see all of Hoi An’s highlights. Bike rental shops are everywhere in the old town and it’s cheap and easy to rent one for an hour or two.
Although, if you are Anantara’s hotel guest, the bike is available for you to grab at no additional charge. Just tell the concierge your room number and you’re all set!
I would recommend riding for at least 30 minutes before heading back to your hotel so that you can get a good overview of where everything is located, as well as see some new sights along the way and take some photos for the gram. You won’t be able to resist cus the city is beautiful at every corner.
Hoi An, where time stops
The city is home to many historical sites from the old days—it was once an important trading port for China and Japan, who both left their mark on the city. So, there are plenty of things to see here. You can take tours through historic neighborhoods or visit museums that display traditional Vietnamese art forms like embroidery, woodcarving, and silk painting. These will help you better understand what life was like during those times as well as provide insight into how Hoi An has evolved since then.
If you lust to get off the beaten path, Hoi An is the place. It has a lot to offer and is an excellent example of how Vietnam’s past influences its present-day culture. If you’re looking for something untouristy but still full of history and charm, then Hoi An is it!
Here is a short video, to sum up, our experience at Hoi An. We will come back for sure to enjoy the lantern festival.
