BREAKING: After nearly 20 years of being the face and fire behind Red Bull Racing, Christian Horner has officially been released from his operational duties, effective July 9, 2025. Horner, who helped turn the team from debutants in 2005 into F1 World Champions, has stepped down with Laurent Mekies taking over as CEO.
“Red Bull has released Christian Horner from his operational duties with effect from today (Wednesday 9 July 2025),” a Red Bull spokesperson confirmed.
And just like that, one of motorsport’s most headline-grabbing figures exits the grid.
