As the world stoke over the news of HRH Princess Beatrice and tycoon Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s wedding recently, we take a closer look at her location ceremony at the grounds of Windsor Castle.
The happy couple who was actually planning for a grand royal wedding earlier turned subsided due to the global pandemic. On Friday morning, they got married at the Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge in Windsor.
Yes, it’s true, Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest castle in the world. Located in an English country in Berkshire, the castle was founded by William the Conqueror in the 11th century. Ever since that, the beautiful castle has been the home of 39 monarchs. That’s incredible! Nowadays, Queen Elizabeth II mostly spends her private weekends there. I would too if I have the same privilege LOL. I mean just look at the landscape. How can you not love it?
Interesting facts of Windsor Castle:
- Queen Victoria, the former queen of England (1837 – 1901) spent most of the year at Windsor.
- In 1992, there was a fire incident where it destroyed many rooms in the castle. In 5 years’ time, the award-winning restoration was complete.
- Now, Queen Elizabeth II uses the castle for official events and state occasions besides staying for the weekends.
More than just a royal residence, the beautiful castle is open for touring all year long. There are a lot of interesting rooms, spaces, and corners that are worth discovering at the castle. Advance bookings are advised to do so for everyone’s safety especially during the current situation. Lesser people are welcome at one time.
If you ask me personally, there are two things that attract me the most about the castle; architecture and landscape. Keep scrolling to be amazed.
Told you it was breathtaking! Definitely booking a tour at Windsor Castle once the pandemic has lifted. Last but not least, here from Hipshut, we wish the happy couple lifetime happiness.
