Relax at Else with art, tranquility, and delicious food
Independent, local, sustainable, artisanal brands and partners were chosen to have the least impact on the environment and to make guests feel like they were staying somewhere special. Omar Khan, who was born in Singapore and lives in KL, has designed and made custom bedhead textiles, rugs, and interesting carpets in Malaysia. There are antiques and works of art from other cultures all over the property. Each piece was chosen by hand from Gilded Lion, a store that collects rare, high-quality antiques and cultural oddities.
Local Art to Inspire Reflection
Pieces of art by award-winning Malaysian artists like Fauzul Yusri, Fendy Zakri, Fawwaz Sukri, and Nathan Fikri are hard to understand, make you think, and are inspiring. The walls of Else also have art by Firda us Ismail and W. Rajaie B, an up-and-coming artist from the area. Joe Fleming, a Canadian artist who has presented his work at the Holocaust Museum in Los Angeles and FIAC Paris. Another notable artist is Argie Bandoy, a Filipino artist, both have pieces in the show.
Place of Peace and Calm
There are wellness facilities all over the hotel. One of the best parts of the state-of-the-art gym is the two floatation pods. In an overstimulated and overworked society, the pods allow people to slow down and find deep stillness.
The mind calms and enters a profound meditative state; the body heals from aches, injuries, and stress. The gym also has free-weight training and calisthenics. Thus, helping people become more aware of their bodies and move around better. The infinity pool on the podium level uses salt water, which is gentler on the skin than chlorine. It’s a great place to relax after a long day and get a new view of Kuala Lumpur’s skyline.
