Performances
Catch ≠ME and Ryoma Quartet
Day 1 (Friday, July 18) kicks off Japan Expo Malaysia 2025 with a cultural-meets-modern energy that sets the tone for the weekend. Catch ≠ME (Not Equal Me), the rising J-pop idol group known for their sweet vocals and razor-sharp choreography. This marks their first-ever performance in Malaysia, and fans are hyped. Sharing the stage is Ryoma Quartet, a genre-bending group that fuses traditional Japanese instruments like the shamisen and koto with electric guitar and drums. It’s a mashup of heritage and rock that’s bound to turn heads on opening night.

Miura Ayme and Crea
Day 2 (Saturday, July 19) is where the energy spikes, and so does the crowd. One of the most anticipated names in the JEMY 2025 lineup, Miura Ayme brings his signature visual kei flair, making every second on stage feel like a full-blown anime OP. Also stepping up is Crea, an all-girl rock band who’s been tearing up Tokyo’s live house circuit and is now bringing their fierce sound to the Malaysia stage. If you’re coming for the music, Saturday is the day to go full fan mode.

Mion and Fizzy Pop
Day 3 (Sunday, July 20) closes out the event on a high with performances that hit you right in the feels. Returning favorite MION will serenade the crowd with her emotional pop ballads and upbeat anthems with a voice you’ll remember long after the weekend ends. And just when you think it’s over, the finale promises a twist: FIZZY POP, a surprise act teased by the organizers, is set to end Japan Expo Malaysia 2025 with a bang. Let’s just say that the 3 days you’re about to experience will indeed be live-changing.

Exhibits to Look Out For
Japan Showcase
One of the must-visit Japan Expo Malaysia 2025 exhibits is the Cool Japan Showcase, a multi-brand exhibition celebrating the best of modern Japanese innovation and design. From the latest anime and game previews to sleek tech gear and fashion-forward streetwear, this space is like stepping into a curated snapshot of Tokyo’s trendiest districts. Think Akihabara meets Harajuku, all in one spot. The exhibit is complete with photo zones, limited-edition merch, and demo booths where you can actually try the goods.

Japanese Cultural Pavilion
If you’re more into the traditional side of things, swing by the Japanese Cultural Pavilion. This space slows things down and reconnects you with Japan’s timeless heritage — featuring everything from tea ceremony demos and kimono fittings to calligraphy workshops and mini Zen garden builds. It’s a hands-on experience that goes beyond watching — you get to touch, try, and take a piece of it with you. Easily one of the most memorable JEMY 2025 activities if you’re there for more than just pop culture.

Anime and Manga Village
Then there’s the fan-favorite Anime & Manga Village, where local and Japanese artists gather for an explosion of color, creativity, and collectibles. Expect fan art booths, doujin corners, voice actor panels, and life-sized displays from popular franchises. Whether you’re shopping for rare prints, geeking out over cosplayers, or lining up for a signing session, this is where the die-hards live. Pro tip: come early because this one gets packed fast.
