Are you a fan of puzzles? Make a stop at Intermark Mall, which has what may be the world’s largest jigsaw puzzle map in Malaysia.
Puzzle Planet®, Taylor’s International School Kuala Lumpur, and Intermark Mall celebrated their record-breaking success. They manage to produce “THE BIGGEST MALAYSIA JIGSAW PUZZLE MAP” in connection with Malaysia’s 65th Independence Day.
Twenty-three talented students from Years 8, 9, and 10 at Taylor’s International School participated in this. They were given the opportunity to conceptualize, sketch, and colour the puzzle pieces that depict what Malaysia means to them.
This year’s Merdeka theme is “Keluarga Malaysia Teguh Bersama”. The map represents Malaysia’s 13 states with hand-drawn illustrations of what each state is known for. For example, Sabah is home to Mt. Kinabalu, Rafflesia, and the Proboscis monkey. On other hand, Sarawak is home to the Oriental Pied Hornbill, an iconic cat monument, and a longhouse.
Peninsular Malaysia features local cuisine located in Ipoh which is famous for its chicken rice and Kopitiam coffee. Handicrafts focus on the details of Wau, famous buildings, and locations such as the Kuala Terengganu Drawbridge and Fraser’s Hill Clock Tower.
“The collaboration between Puzzle Planet, Intermark Mall, Taylor’s International School, intelligence partner Huawei Malaysia, and Pintoo International to make this record-breaking feat possible is a great example of the Keluarga Malaysia (Malaysian family) spirit. This patriotic art piece not only pays tribute to Malaysia’s beauty and multi-cultural diversity, it is also a great way to get into the Merdeka celebratory mood to mark 65 years of Malaysia’s independence,” said Prof. Dr. Jeffery Yap, Chief Operating Officer of Puzzle Planet®.
In addition, there are several local attractions right in front of the puzzle that you can visit. Simply enter through the front entrance, and you will be able to see a small selection of various Malaysian local products that are for sale. We have provided a list of some of the vendors below; however, keep in mind that they will only be present between the dates of 24th August til 18th September only.
