#3 Behold Banjar Community’s cultural artefacts from Urang Banjar: Heritage and Culture of the Banjar in Singapore exhibition at the Malay Heritage Centre
Have you heard of Banjarese before? They are Singapore’s smallest sub-ethnic Malay community. Either way, here’s your opportunity to dive into the cultural world of the Banjarese culture. You will have the chance to check out their ethnographic objects, photographs, community stories, treasured family belongings, and other exhibits that are weaved together with their insights and anecdotes. Sounds very interesting indeed!
Even better, you can even find out how the locals prospected for diamonds using traditional mining methods at the Cempaka Diamond Fields before. On top of that, you will be shown on how they polished diamonds using the machines. Unlike your usual museum exhibition, you can witness the artefacts come alive through digital platforms like videos, audio recordings and Augmented Reality (AR) experiences.
