There’s no way to stop this addiction now 😛
Honestly, searching for Muslim friendly restaurants in Chinatown, Kuala Lumpur was kind of hard. I had this dilemma when I checked in to Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, Chinatown recently. Yes, I was overjoyed by the choices of food in the hotel but I wanted to explore the area better. So eventually, I found what I was looking for. Yes, I enjoyed the halal food that they served. But it was more than that though. The beautiful heritage interior design was one of the reasons I was attracted to these restaurants too.

Halal and beautifully designed, you will love it! I’m talking about meshed up walls designs, colourful floral paintings on walls, and so much more. Check out our list so that you can visit the cafes once you’re free with your closed ones.
The Hungry Tapir
Was I impressed the moment I stepped in? Yes! Did I take a few photos and videos before I sat down and ordered my meal? Yes! Was the food as high quality as the design of the restaurant? 6/10, to be honest. Most of the food that we wanted was already finished by 9 pm. I guess because the place was crowded hence why the food quantity was low. But overall, I did enjoy my dinner there.

Merchant’s Lane
During one of the nights we stayed in Petaling Street, I was craving for some cafe-is food. Luckily, Merchant Lane was just next door. The cafe’s doors are always closed (I’m not sure why though). So if you ever want to dine in there, just make sure to push the doors slightly and you will be able to enter it. The cafe is well designed. So unique and every corner is just Instaworthy.
When it comes to food, every dish you’ll see in the menu relates back to a strong local culture. I remembered taking about more than 15 minutes just to view the menu. It was just so unique lol. Muslim friendly you ask, I’d say thousand times yes!

Ali, Muthu, and Ah Hock
Whether it’s in Selangor or Kuala Lumpur, I would always order the restaurant’s signature dish, nasi lemak with ayam goreng for sure! My all-time favourite! I mean, who doesn’t love nasi lemak right? Plus the sambal’s spiciness is just right. Not too spicy and sweet. Muslim would love it!
Oh, not to forget the heritage design theme that was designed to match the surrounding history. I absolutely love it. Looks old but in a well-maintained kind of way.

Zhang La La Mee Tarik
Indulge in the ever famous mee tarik which also has a Muslim-friendly option. What makes these noodles so unique is the hand-pulled method used to create those long, bouncy and chewy noodles. The dish is served with a warm rich and flavour-packed broth that is perfect to warm you up on those cold days.
