The pieces are so alive on its own! Also, he was a guest judge in Britain’s Next Top Model, Cycle 6.
In 1991, Dato’ Bernard Chandran became the first non-European designer to win both the coveted Silk Cut Young Designers Award and the Open European contest fo Look of the Year 2000 in Paris. His hard work and determination doesn’t stop just there. In 1994, making a fashionable spin of mixing traditional culture and art, he successfully introduced new silhouettes and techniques of using embellishment and fabrics in the Malay outfit. Ever since then, his talent has been more well-recognized from Malaysia to Brunei and of course, on an international level. Due to his influence and talent, the Sultan of Pahang gave him the Dato title (the Malaysian equivalent of a knighthood) in the year of 2007.
